Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to be chosen to attend the Australian Food Bloggers Conference (Eat Drink Blog) 2012.
Held in Adelaide this year, the group was created to bring Australian food bloggers together in the hope they could build a regular Conference in the style of the International Food bloggers Conference which was first held in May 2009 in Seattle.
The conference is this weekend and I can’t tell you how excited I am!! With guest speakers Dianne Jacob (Food Writing Coach and author of Will Write for Food: The Complete Guide to Writing Cookbooks, Blogs, Reviews, Memoir) Simon Bryant (chef, author and TV presenter for ‘The Cook & the Chef) Ed Charles (food blog ‘Tomato’) and many more, the weekend is set to provide me with wealth of valuable information and tips that will help to improve my blogging techniques.
Saturday of the conference I had to choose whether I wanted to go on the Barossa, McLaren Vale Wine Tour or take part in the Food Writing Workshop with Dianne Jacob – good girl me chose the workshop! I’ll learn how to craft writing that impresses, persuades and dazzles!
Saturday night I’ll be having dinner at the Hilton Adelaide where I’ll be showcased local produce, wine and beer – num num!!
Sunday will be a packed day of proceedings with speakers, presenters, workshops (blog design/photography/food styling) and Q&A.
I admit I am a little nervous about venturing to the Eat Drink Blog conference alone, however I have no doubt that I will make many friends and I will absorb an abundance of information that will help shape me into the future food blogger I dream and aspire to be.
If you would like to find out more about what’s on this year, you can check out all the details on the website below – including a full list of the 80 Australian delegates chosen this year.

It’s my first one too! So you won’t be alone any more. Looking forward to meeting you on the weekend.
Right back at you Amanda 🙂 3 more sleeps!
Hi Kirsten!
Glad to see I’m not the only one bursting with excitement. It will be my first EDB and I’m headed there on my own too. Being a good girl and doing the writing course as well and I can’t wait. Look forward to meeting you!
Yes jumping with glee (and nervousness too he he) I’m glad to hear about someone else participating in the writing workshop 🙂 We’ve got 2 hours I see to spare when the others go on their wine tour… we’ll have to hang out and discover something special!…. You’re another Brisban-ite too I hear????
Hello Miss Foodie, this is all very exciting isnt it? I hope to meet you in Adelaide. I am attending alone also and this is my first ever blogger gathering. We all love food so that should get everyone off to a good start! Safe travels.
So true so true!! I wish you well on your travels also 🙂 I adore your outdoor bath….. and again another photography master I see! So many talented individuals we will meet on this adventure. I must not forget to say hello to everyone, I’m sure they’re all feeling a little bit the same as me/you 😉
Don’t worry about being on your own, Miss Foodie! We will take good care of you. Looking forward to welcoming you to our fair state in a few days time.xx
Thanks for your kind words Erin!! Food is a comfort so should be somewhat ok lol. I’m so looking forward to meeting everyone – how I get to around to talking to everyone I don’t know; I’m sure I’ll have figuring it out though 😉
