Rock Cod w warm Asian-slaw

Craving a fresh piece of fish for dinner, I headed to my local fish monger for help. In search of a firm, white flesh variety, my fish monger advised that the Rock Cod from the Northern Territory and Trevally where going to be my ideal choices. Not having tried Rock Cod before, I opted for this. Sadly I don’t buy fresh fish as much as I would like, and to be honest, it’s simply because of cost. However, watching a recent episode of Gourmet Farmer really got me thinking. Host Matthew Evans ventured out for a deep sea fishing adventure, and let’s just say the weather was far from perfect and...

Authentic Greek Kebabs

“Food From Many Greek Kitchens” by Tessa Kiro’s is a beautiful cookbook filled with deliciously mesmerizing photos of Greek food, people, culture and landscapes. Always dreaming of a Greek Island holiday (who isn’t), I love how this cookbook whisks me off to this far away land without having to fork out the airfare. Japanese Chicken w/ Stir-fried Bok Choy, Enoki & Shiitake Mushrooms

Who needs to go to a Japanese restaurant when you can make a good-looking Japanese taste sensation like this at home? Not me! Well not today anyway. This recipe was inspired by a mix-up of recipes I found online and from my many Asian dining experiences. What I love so much about this dish is the earthy, gorgeousness that is mushrooms! Gone are the days that the common white button mushroom lay solo on the supermarket shelf. Today we are blessed with everything from the mild fruity flavoured Enoki, to the rich, firm flavoured Portobello – and you can add a myriad more when you venture to...

Asian Pumpkin Soup w Seafood

I’m not the biggest fan of pumpkin soup, however this Asian inspired version packs a wonderful flavour punch. The sweetness of the seafood combined w coconut milk is delicious.
