Primo e Pizza Night at The Burrow

Being an Amici Primo (Friend of Primo) is just way too much fun. The Primo family and I got together last week and enjoyed a charming evening, sipping beautiful wines and savouring in scrumptious Burrow pizzas. We kicked off our special Primo evening with an aromatic glass of Primo Secco NV. Joe Grilli, Primo Estate owner and innovator of superb wines, has always been a fan of the Italian Prosecco – and who could blame the man! This fresh and aromatic sparkling is made from a blend of Colombard, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Delicate on the bubbles, with a refreshingly crisp...

What if I told you that the beef, pork, chicken or lamb you were eating may have never felt the sun upon it’s back, never understood the feeling of freedom, never got to bond with its young and after all that, died in the most inhumane and morbid way one could have imagined? Would you still want that steak?

Trip to Jocelyn Hancock’s farm

What better way to kick off the year than by venturing out to Jocelyn Hancock’s farm this weekend! The lovely team at Lucid Media have organised a day trip to a cattle property just outside of Killarney Queensland. Here I will be given a behind the scenes look at how the meat is selected before it lands on our plates at Alfred & Constance (A&C). We will be meeting the farmer and hear how he has developed his herd, what sort of animals he likes and what to expect from a herd for that particular region. I will also meet the buyer who buys the meat direct from the farm. I will be...

Goodbye 2012 Hello 2013

Midway through January 2013 already! I trust you all had a magnificent festive season with your family and friends; no doubt New Years was much the same, full of smiles and bubbles aplenty. I treated myself to a holiday with absolutely no social media and no computers, and you know what? I loved every minute of it! I think it’s important for people to turn away from technology once in a while. It reminds us that we’re human and it allows us to slow down, relax and ‘smell the roses’ so to speak. My first week of holidays consisted of 4 separate Christmas Days (the joy of the modern day...
